What is the reason that you want to start on a fitness journey? What are your goals?
Why are these important questions? You and your coach/trainer, if you have one, need to know the answers to these questions. Is there a medical condition that you want to counter? Have you decided that getting winded going up a flight of stairs is no longer acceptable? Maybe you just want to get back into your favorite swimsuit or jeans.
Setting goals is important because it helps keep you on track and provides not only a destination but inspiration to reach the goals.
Like any set of goals, your fitness goals need to be specific – what do you want to accomplish; measurable so you can track your progress; realistic and attainable goals to prevent frustration; and time based – when do you want to accomplish these goals.
